Silent Love

Former Navy SEAL Sean Millen has been perfectly fine with his bachelorhood until recently, when he realizes he's unhappy with his single status. Unfortunately, his playboy reputation doesn't offer him the type of woman that could fulfill his days and nights as well as settle into the specific life he envisions.

Four years ago, Beth Connors' world was entirely altered. Beth spends her days trying to remain invisible in order to avoid unwanted attention. Each night she sheds grief-filled tears over the former life she once led but will never be able to regain.

When Beth literally runs into HIM. Doctor Sean Millen. A force of nature. A rock. A reputable heartbreaker, who takes an immediate interest in her, there's no place for her to hide. But Beth's natural instinct to push Sean away to save herself and him from the difficult task of adjusting their lives to her shortcomings is always front and center. Yet, Beth secretly longs for love. Is she strong enough to tear down the walls of her self-imposed prison?

Sean finds himself falling for a woman who is determined to reject his every advance and deny their surprisingly deep connection. Can Sean push past Beth's concrete walls that she refuses to destroy? Or will Beth's shocking revelation of her past prevent them from finding the love they both deserve? Or will a tragic accident pull Sean and Beth apart permanently?

Unexpected Love

Ryan Millen. Notorious playboy. Forever a bachelor. Never one to settle. Loves his one-night-stands. Ryan has loved his single status without any desire to settle down into a permanent relationship. Why would he? To be in a relationship requires work and sacrifice. Why go through all that trouble to make himself miserable just to make a woman happy?

Lynn is struggling to get by day-to-day. Thirty-two years old, she can't find a job in a saturated market. She can no longer afford to pay the bills with her minimum wage job after her ex dumped her while she'd been in middle of nursing school. He walked out on her to "find himself." Now she finds herself on her brother's doorstep, begging for a place to stay so maybe she can find a way to crawl out of the hole she's been swallowed by. Embarrassed by her situation, she vows never to become dependant on a man again.

Ryan's world is turned upside down when one of his one-nighters throws a wrench into his perfect single life. He loses himself not knowing how to handle a situation he never wanted. His life spins out of control, about to lose his job and his mind.

An opportunity crosses Lynn's path that she'd never considered. An opportunity to possibly gain financial independence. An opportunity her brother warns her not to take. An opportunity she can't refuse.

Will Ryan's new world destroy him or can he accept it and move forward with a chance for a life he'd never planned, but if he embraces could open up his heart for an unexpected surprise. Can Lynn save Ryan from himself? Can Lynn allow herself to open up to Ryan and trust again? What happens when they push against the natural draw they have towards one another?

And what happens when Ryan's one-nighter reappears, set out for revenge?

Dangerous Love

Warning, book 3 of The Love Series is about bad boy extraordinaire Derk Forester. This novel contains strong/foul language, violence, and sex. After all, he works for the mob. No rainbows or kittens in his story. Possibly a puppy. But if that mixture is up your alley, have at him. Oh, and no cliffhangers in this series.

Derk Forester is a man who's used to getting what he wants when he wants. He takes, conquers, then saunters away in all aspects of his life - work and play. Years embedded deep in the mob and a sour taste for relationships, he has zero desire to find a permanent partner to make a home with. His carefree lifestyle leaves him with a long list of inconsequential, bed-rocking, no-strings-attached women. A daily life he relishes until he meets...her. The one woman who could alter his world. The one woman he can't get out of his head. The one woman who could bring him to his knees. The one woman that could be used against him.

If it wasn't for bad luck, Mackenzie Hiland would have no luck at all. A cheating husband, shafted by the courts, no money or home, her life is a dismal list of horrible choices and even worse consequences. After acknowledging she needs to change her decision making skills, Mackenzie can't help but to be lured in by the dangerous man, who's taken an interest in her and is blatant in his desire to get her into his bed. Despite the fact she tries to distance herself from Derk, he refuses her rejections. Will Derk become another addition to the long list of regretful decisions she's made? Could Derk possibly be the man that doesn't screw her over? Or will Derk be the one choice that finally takes her to a point of no return?

Taken Love

The contemporary romance The Love Series comes to a conclusion with Taken Love. Questions will be answered, relationships and lives hang in the balance, and everything you thought you knew about the Murphy family will be turned inside out in the matter of one tragic event.

Smith has worked for the Murphy family for years. A powerful and dangerous organized crime family that rules the Northeast. He spends his days and nights with only one goal, to get through to the next day, watching his boss's back. A past he avoids at all costs leaves him with a cold, lonely bed and no possibility of future relationships. Until she needs his help. His good conscious won't allow the young woman to pay for her mother's indiscretions. One rash decision has him doing the one thing he's never done in all the years he's worked for the Murphy family.

Cara O'Hara has lived a hard life. A life altered by her father's death when she was a young girl. Now she spends her days trying to care for her mother, who's lost to a world of drugs, alcohol, and sex. Cara has nothing. No friends, relationships, or any semblance of a normal life. But nothing prepares her for the threat that Cara's mother has now hindered her with. A debt her mother owes but can't repay. A debt that the collectors decide taking Cara as payment is perfectly acceptable. She unexpectedly finds herself fighting for her life, literally, as she's dragged from her home and shoved in to the trunk of a car. In that moment, her life is forever changed.

Can Smith help save Cara from the men who will inevitably end up placing her in an early grave? Will Cara's overwhelming presence distract Smith from the mundane life he's created for himself? What happens when both their worlds collide on an unexpected and unwelcome course? How does Smith handle his attraction to the beautiful woman whose life he's devoted to saving? How does Cara deal with a man who's closed off in every way? And what happens when the men who want Cara seek revenge?

Everyone will pay, including those important figures in the Murphy family.

*****
5 Stars

The Love Series is an awesome, fantabulous set of books!!! I highly recommend reading all of Casey Clipper's books.

Silent Love
Sean is a cardiac surgeon, 38, and single. He lives with his best friend, his brother Ryan. Sean and Ryan are more like identical twins than simply brothers. They are both former Navy Seals and drop dead gorgeous.

Beth is 28, single, beautiful, and works at the hospital handling medical claims. She has also been deaf for over 4 years. Beth suffers from insecurity due to her deafness.

When Sean and Beth meet, he is determined they will have a relationship. Beth thinks she will be a burden and is unworthy. Sean sets out to prove to Beth that she is deserving of a good life and worthy of his love.

I really enjoyed this book. I can relate to the characters and the situations. The plot moves at a good pace. I like the way the characters work out their difficulties through open, honest communication like mature adults. I could understand Beth's parents being overly protective. I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between Sean and Ryan.

That being said, I felt the inclusion of Courtney to add extra drama was unneccessary and detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book. Beth dealing with her entirely understandable insecurities and Sean learning how to get Beth to understand how special she was to him was all the story needed. I would have given it 5 Stars except for this.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes HEA Romances.

Unexpected Love
Ryan Millen is a NICU nurse, former Navy Seal, and confirmed bachelor. He loves taking care of the fragile newborns but doesn't want any kids of his own. When a woman giving birth declares Ryan is the father and she is giving the baby up for adoption, Ryan has to face the responsibilities of being a single dad. Enter Lynn, an R who can't find a job in a saturated market. She becomes Brady's nanny and immediately falls in love with him. Who wouldn't fall in love with a precious baby. Trouble is, Ryan and Lynn develop feelings for each other but neither believes it is a good idea to act upon those feelings. Can they get past their misgivings and find their HEA?

This is another HOT, sexy couple who I thought would cause my ereader to overheat!! They don't simply create sparks-- they cause a fire!! I love Lynn's sassy attitude. It is a perfect match for Ryan's fun-loving ways. I loved how Lynn didn't hold back when she told Ryan off concerning his behavior and his attitude toward Brady.

I was very pleased to see Ryan struggling, both physically and emotionally, with his role as daddy. I feel his behavior was right on the mark. Realistic. Granted, not all men would have the same reactions Ryan did. Some men want to have kids. Ryan didn't. I applaud Casey Clipper for the way she wrote their relationship. I won't spoil it but I loved the outfits. You'll understand when you read it. So cute!

I was hooked from the first page to the last. Couldn't put it down. All the characters are complex and well-developed. Did I mention the sex is Hot? Well, it is. Not too graphic, which I like. I most definitely recommend you read Unexpected Love. Actually, the entire Love Series. They are all interconnected but are stand-alone stories.

Dangerous Love

Dangerous Love is Book 3 in the Love Series. Everyone from the first 2 books is back in Book 3 but the story focuses on Derk Forester, Derrick Murphy's henchman.

Mackenzie grew up in foster care and never knew what love was. She married the first man to show an interest in her. Trouble was, he didn't really love her. In the divorce he got everything leaving Mackenzie with nothing. She is determined to get her life in order and to find love.

When Derk sees Mackenzie, he wants her in his bed. No commitment, just sex until he has had enough and moves on. Problem is, Mackenzie won't settle for that. Derk comes on too crude, too bossy, and too arrogant-- typical Derk behavior. He realizes he needs to back off and start over with a different approach. Derk spends time with Mac and she gets under his skin. He begins to realize he wants Mac in his future. Mac isn't so sure she wants Derk in her life once she finds out what he does for a living. Derk sets out to change her mind.

Once again, Casey Clipper has written an excellent book. She brings her characters to life as fully developed individuals-- warts and all. There were times I wanted to wring Derk's neck and slap him silly for being such a Neanderthal. Other times, I was touched by how he cared for Mac. How he wanted to prove to her how wonderful she was. How he wanted to bring her into the Murphy family so she could learn what it was like to have people who really cared for her and had her back. I liked Mac because she wasn't jealous of Derk's relationships with Courtney and Beth. She was secure in herself and in his feelings for her.

Personally, I would have never thought I would care for people in the mob. Especially one with Derk's "talents". In Casey's hands, these characters are likeable. That speaks volumes about her talent.

I've read all 3 books in this series. I loved all of them. I am impatiently awaiting Book 4! I highly recommend the entire Love Series to anyone wanting to read a terrific, highly entertaining story. Derrick Murphy insists on it!

Taken Love

WOW!!!! Casey Clipper ended the Love Series with a bang! A BIG BANG!!! I don't know where to start. Leaving me speechless is not an easy task. Just ask anyone who knows me!

Okay, where to start....Taken Love is supposed to be Smith's story. And it is but it is also so much more. Turns out Smith does have a first name. Hunter. Kind of appropriate considering his line of work. Turns out he also is tired of his lonely life and wishes he could have a more normal, meaningful life. Enter Cara, a woman who has had a hard life. If not for bad luck, she'd have no luck at all. Smith is determined to protect her at all costs and in the process falls in love. Their romance is different than the others in the series. They have more obstacles to overcome-- including staying alive.

We meet a mob boss in this story who is worse than Derrick Murphy. He doesn't even play fair by mob standards. Derrick ticks me off big time in Taken Love. In several different ways. Suffice to say, I now loathe the man. Jack isn't much better. I won't go into details because I hate spoilers. All I will say is I think you will be surprised by some of the things revealed in this story. No, they aren't unbelievable, just shocking. And disappointing.

Like the rest of the series, Taken Love held my interest from the first word to the last period. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. At the same time, I didn't want the book to end because I knew the series was over. Casey promises we will see these characters again and for that I am glad. It won't be the same though because the story won't be theirs. We will also get short stories centering on the mannies. So, it isn't goodbye. Just so long. Hope to see you soon.

If you haven't figured it out by now, I highly recommend Taken Love. I definitely recommend the entire Love Series and everything else Casey Clipper has written. She is a must read on my list of authors. If you like a well-written romance that breaks out of the cookie cutter mold, check out Casey Clipper's books. You won't be sorry.
