My name is Nollaig, it’s the Irish word for Christmas. I hate my name. My parents loved Christmas and that’s why they gave me such a festive name, together with the fact that I was born on Christmas Day.

However, my parents are no longer with us after dying in a car accident on Christmas Eve, five years ago.

Now I hate Christmas all together.

I always hated the fact that everyone got presents on my birthday. Now my parents are gone and ever since then I just don’t feel like celebrating Christmas. Everything about this holiday gives me sad memories.

I need a miracle to happen over the Christmas holiday to make me change my mind about Christmas.

Who knew that a quick shopping trip would provide me with the miracle that I so desperately needed?

While surveying the city from above, a dark-haired woman on the roof caught Roman’s attention. She stood ramrod-straight and she fidgeted with her glass. Something about her discomfort triggered his gargoyle instincts, making him observe her more closely. When he scanned her from head to toe, he didn’t gain any insight other than how attractive she was. Her hair was rich and lush, flowing in loose waves over her shoulders. It had a burgundy tone from the various lighting fixtures around the deck. Her wide eyes searched her surroundings. What was she looking for? His gaze traveled down her body, studying how well it was encased in a form-fitting black dress. He lingered on her killer curves, fueling his imagination with sordid fantasies of what it would be like to touch them. He snapped his eyes away. He was supposed to be gauging what had set off his senses. Seconds later, his gaze returned to her, despite his admonition to himself. Her expression turned troubled. A strong reaction rose within him, one he couldn’t read. He rubbed the back of his neck. Something about her put all his senses on edge; he had to keep an eye on her, although he had no indication why. She spoke to a blonde woman next to her, and he turned his head to focus on their conversation. With all the chatter in the room, he couldn’t catch it, despite his acute sense of hearing. I was now pacing the bar area, worrying my bottom lip between my teeth and clenching and unclenching my hands. That woman Belinda said a gift would arrive in two hours and it was now almost eleven in the morning. I had a bad feeling and didn’t know what I should do.

My head snapped up when the Prez left his office and headed for the main doors, Rooster, Wiz, Henry and Drake all followed him and it took me a moment to get my feet moving again, I hurried after them only to be stopped by Denise.

 “No, you can’t go out there.” I was stunned by what she was telling me and it took a moment to register.

 “I need to see what it is.” I went to step past her and she blocked my path. “Denise.”

 “I’m sorry, no.” I went to dodge her again when large hands clapped around my waist and lifted me off my feet. I looked over my shoulder to see that Drum had picked me up and was carrying me into the bar. He placed me on the sofa and Denise sat beside me.

 “Please just wait for Drake to come back in, ok?” I nodded, not taking my eyes off the door.

 “It’s another woman, isn’t it?” I asked, taking my eyes off the door to look at Denise and the answer was clear as day on her face. Her face full of make-up couldn’t hide it from me.

About the Author:

Kacey Hamford is a pen name for me (Kelly). I am in my thirties and started this journey in 2014, I love to read romance books about rockstars, so thought I would have a go at writing one myself. I really enjoyed it and got a boost of confidence once my books started selling.

I have gone on to write a young adult series, set in a college. The series is still on going.

I also have an MC series, it was something different for me to write and I enjoyed it so much, especially when I got readers telling me they would love to read books about the sub characters.

I work full time as a dog groomer, I love to read and my friends and family are very important to me. They are all so supportive of my writing career and encourage me to carry on.
